Obstetric violence, which manifests itself through acts and omissions that threaten women’s physical and psychological integrity, has scarcely been studied in the context of perinatal bereavement. At ISA2019 Dr. Karina Romo, Medical Anthropologist at the Innovia Foundation, Mexico, will address this topic based on three key themes: access to healthcare, evidence-based practice, and ‘bedside manners’.
